What my clients say...

My daughter received lessons from Henri from year 7/8 when we deregistered from school. It was a very challenging time in many ways.  Henri provided a very welcoming and supportive online environment, high quality structured lessons.  When we encountered a problem with my daughters access to learning, communication was clear and Henri adapted to it.  I felt the lessons were low demand but were engaging. My daughter engaged fully and looked forward to her lessons. Henri really met her needs and understood her.  There was any option for additional work each week, which my daughter completed. The feed back was phenomenal and professional, it really made us feel valued.  We have decided to continue with lessons and enter into gcse language.

Safeguarding

As an online English tutor, I am committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people, and adults I work with. I recognise my duty of care to provide a safe, respectful, and professional online learning environment. This applies to all online 1:1 and small group tuition sessions delivered via secure digital platforms. It covers the protection of students under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults.

Principles

The safety and wellbeing of the student is my highest priority. All students, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation, have the right to learn in a safe environment free from harm.

I will ensure that:

  • I maintain professional boundaries in all online communications and interactions.

  • Safeguarding concerns are always taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.

Responsibilities

As the tutor, I will:

  • Treat all students with dignity and respect.

  • Use secure, professional platforms for lessons.

  • Encourage parents/guardians of under-18 students to be aware of, and ideally present nearby during, sessions.

  • Keep all communication related to learning and conducted through agreed channels

  • Remain alert to potential safeguarding issues, including signs of online abuse, exploitation, or inappropriate behaviour.

  • Escalate safeguarding concerns to the appropriate statutory agencies (e.g., local authority children’s services, police) if I believe a student may be at risk of harm.

  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of safeguarding guidance, including the UK’s Keeping Children Safe in Education principles as relevant to online tuition.

Online Safety Measures

  • All lessons will take place on agreed, secure video-conferencing platforms.

  • Lessons will not be recorded unless there is prior agreement from both tutor and parent/guardian, and recordings will be stored securely.

  • Students are encouraged to use a neutral study space (e.g., not a bedroom) where possible.

  • Parents/guardians should ensure that the student’s environment is safe and appropriate for online learning.

  • I will not share personal information and will protect the privacy of students.

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Any personal information shared with me will be treated in line with data protection principles and kept confidential. If I believe a student is at risk of harm, I am obligated to pass on relevant information to safeguarding authorities.

Reporting and Raising Concerns

Students, parents, or guardians are encouraged to raise any safeguarding concerns directly with me via email or using the contact form at the bottom of this page. In an emergency, or if a child is at immediate risk, emergency services (999 in the UK) or local safeguarding services should be contacted immediately.
